20 acre Semi-private lake-Racine Ohio- perfect for fishing, kayaking, swimming or just enjoying the view. Great for family fun or a quite retreat. 5 person hot tub overlooking the lake. Lakeside fire pit/wood supplied. Life jackets, water mat, kayaks, paddle boats, paddle boards & pontoon available (for pontoon must do safety tutorial). Corn hole, volleyball, badminton, horse shoes, board games, dvd/movies.
For new bookings after 8/1/22, the house will offer 3Br and max occupancy of 6. We will open the 4th bedroom (sleeps 3) for and additional fee of $50/night for a max occupancy of 9 guests total upon request only. All guests must be registered at time of booking with name/age/life jacket size, no exceptions per our insurance company. Thanks for sending that information when requesting to book. If your guest numbers change, we appreciate you updating your booking ASAP, we will refund the 4th room if it’s booked then not needed, so long as you notify us prior to checkin. No guests are permitted that are not registered with name/age/life jacket size- this is an insurance requirement. We strive to keep our rates low and understandably, larger groups utilize more resources than do smaller groups (towels, laundry, electricity, water, etc). We tried charging for guests over 6, but too many people just booked for 6 or less and then brought or added more guests without paying. Our solution is to open the 4th room only when requested and paid for at booking. We hope folks understand, it seems the most fair way to handle the issue.
The lake is co-owned by 3 separate families who utilize the lake. We live next door to the rental. Our neighbors cabin is not visible except when the leaves are off. These neighbors have a private island and we ask our guests to refrain from trespassing. They have cameras and do tell us. Unfortunately, we would have no other choice but to end a guests stay without refund if our neighbors report guests trespassing. The other owners home is not on the lake. All owners access the lake at the boat ramp located on our property next to the rental, so please be mindful and don’t block the ramp.
Generally the lake is fairly private with an occasional authorized user coming to fish or kayak. We live here year round, so we use the lake quite often and have a separate boat.
There is a gate that we try to keep closed. Only people with permission to use the lake have access codes to enter the property, so guests can be assured that if someone does show up-they are safe and allowed to be there.
We highly recommend water shoes, sun screen and bug spray. We also recommend you check out full face snorkel masks online. A little pricey, but so much easier for young kids to learn to snorkel, great 180 degree views and a valve to prevent water entering the system. We do have basic goggles on the boat.
